Would you take English contributions and then translate? My grade-school French is pretty rough.  How about a chapter on different Lua projects for the reader to get started with; like love2d, tir, wow, scite, kepler, etc.?

No problem, I am less active in the ML than in the past. I hope my tone didn't sound aggressive, I was just curious.
And even if I am using Lua for quite some time (back to 3.2, IIRC) and I did some useful things with it, I still don't see myself as an expert, hence my wondering.
Perhaps I can contribute some base level material... :-)

Why not?
I suppose the book project is backed by some stats about the amount of potentially interested Lua users. At best, it will allow to increase this number! :-)
