The Lua community certainly has a very different culture than the  
charismatic missionary scripting languages have, and I think it  
reflects a more serious mindset;

Then again, maybe Lua hackers just tend to be too busy writing C code  
to bother with blogging endless "I'm flying" posts, or to care about  
converting the masses over to the One True Language. Amen.
