No.  The Chinese writing system is not an alphabet; it is made up of ideographs and pictographs, which are drawings that represent general ideas/concepts or specific things.

This is very OT now, and if you want to learn more there are better places to find and discuss such information.  Wikipedia probably has good information to start with.
