Ditto for Boo, the second-greatest programming language to come from
Brazil. (Not surprisingly, MoonScript has followed that tradition of
double quotes allowing interpolation which goes all the way back to
Unix shell conventions.)
I do like the double-quote for _public_ strings idea, it's a question
of keeping consistent.
