Oh yes, we have learned about trusting the container to place things -
it was a particular mindset with the old-style RAD tools.

Glade is not too shabby in what it produces. But if you have a
sufficiently expressive language (such as Lua) then why not use it as
that format instead of XML? Especially if the resulting interface can
be re-started practically instantly.  (Lua in data-description mode,
not in imperative mode, of course)
