Vim. Runs on more platforms than any other editor, AFAIK. Extremely
powerful, easy on the hands, and better than most editors on laptop
keyboards or via telnet sessions (relies less on extended keys). It
has very flexible syntax highlighting scheme based on regular
expressions, which has allowed it to accumulate syntax definitions for
over 300 languages, including Lua. It's always neat to open up some
totally obscure file type like "Abaqus finite element input file" and
find that Vim knows how to highlight it. ;)
