I would gladly buy 20 CD-ROMS, and I would gladly contribute funds to the Lua 
project, but buying 20 books seems a bit silly :)

Bear in mind that I have been a Lua advocate for a long time, and that I do 
own a copy of the book. I'm just now tackling a situation where a large 
number of people may need to be taught the language, some of those being 
non-programmers.

I'm speaking from experience when I say that the information in the book is 
vital to new Lua users understanding the language. I've taught quite a few 
people Lua in the past ad found that they didn't really "get it" until they'd 
read the book from the website.

I was thinking that maybe certain sections of the book, like parts of the 
Object Oriented and co-routines sections could be made available (I think 
roberto mentioned that an excerpt is available on a website), as I think 
those are two areas which people generally have trouble with.
