This I agree with wholeheartedly.  I'm already experimenting to see if I
can add exceptions to Lua myself with the existing tools.  If not, I'd much
rather see exception primitives in the language than see a specific
exception scheme forced on me.  (Coming from Dylan, I have my own views of
how exceptions should be handled that diverge sharply from the C++/Java/et
al crowd.)
