Fabio Mascarenhas is a PhD student at PUC-Rio, and a member of Lablua [1]. His advisor is RobertoIerusalimschy, and his research interests include dynamic programming languages, virtual machines, self-hosting and reflective systems, and programming language abstractions for concurrent and web programming.
He is also an active developer of the Kepler Project [2], and the author and/or maintainer of several Lua libraries [3]. Some recent projects:
- Alien [4], a Lua FFI
- LPEG-based Lua macros [5]
- Cosmo in LPEG [6], a new implementation of the Cosmo template library
- Orbit, a lightweight MVC web framework
- WSAPI [7], a web server abstraction layer
- The packaging of Kepler for LuaRocks [8].
He is also working on the LuaCLR compiler, a self-hosted Lua compiler for the Common Language Runtime, and a green threads library with non-blocking IO. Snapshots of these work are available, but unsupported [9].
