Lua is so low because the algorithm needs 64 bit precision
and it is Lua 5.2. They should not give more time to Lua,
they should just update to 5.3.

Yes, that would be quite reasonably.

But as for now, HackerRank doesn't use Lua 5.3.

They use Ubuntu 14.04 (LTS) AMD64 virtualized EC2 instance

to check submissions, so I guess all language implementations were
taken from Ubuntu 14.04 repository, that's why Lua version is 5.2.3
