Of course, one can be perfectly capable programmer without knowing nor ever learning what two's complement is. No really!
And this perfectly capable programmer can be pretty comfortable with the "too big a number for a computer, thus infinite". He will see it as a weakness of computers as a class. Now, the fact that "too big a number" is sometimes infinite and sometimes a negative number, is clearly Lua's fault. :)
