We did introduce % and # in Lua 5.1 and :: in Lua 5.2 and there was no
need to move to Lua 6. The major version number has reflected a major
change in the language: extensible semantics in 2.1, tag methods in 3.0,
multiples states etc in 4.0, metatables, coroutines, etc in 5.0.
