I do believe this thread has taken an interesting turn, with Jay's
remark. So, I have changed the name of the thread accordingly.

I hope not to be starting a flame war with this, but... isn't this a
topic we actually need to explore in some more depth?

Just to prevent any misunderstandings, this thread is not meant for
criticism, but to contribute constructive suggestions on what you miss
most in Lua and would like to see implemented.
