In all fairness, Lua might be a bit disconcerting at first, due to its very, hmmm, "free form" nature. It takes a bit of time (or forever) to start to appreciate its idioms. In the meantime, it's very tempting to shape Lua into what one is familiar with. Which is a good learning experience as well.
