The best I've done so far is "apollo", which is moon-related, not really Portuguese, and its only connection with linear programming is that it has l's and p's in it.

Any suggestions?

"Lunar Programming?" (Might be too close for comfort to "Lunar", which a quick search reveals to be the name of another Lua lib.)

"Lunear" for a silly portmanteau. "Linear Lua" is kind of catchy.
