Dear List members,

a lot of other scripting languages similar in spirit to lua provide a 
public accessible control repositories, where changes to the language 
can be monitored.

There is now
http://repo.or.cz/w/lua.git
but it's unoffical (ie. not where the core developers commit)

What are the pros and cons of such a step and is it eventually planed to do?
