I'm sure there are many Mac versions of Lua floating around, pre-compiled,
or with source distributions.

Well, yeah kinda :)

You're not going to be able to access DFScript functionality from a Mac
version of Lua though, as you're not going to have the appropriate DFScript
module etc for it.  For testing standard Lua scripts to be used in
conjunction with Digital Fusion, that'll be fine, but any DFScript specific
calls will not work.
