In my experience, the gnu mailing lists are very good. They are very
flexible (Mailman has oodles of options) and very reliable. They do not
attach ads to the mails and, best of all, the GNU project can be
expected to (a) not change their policies and (b) to stick around for
the years to come.
ML address would probably be something like lua-l@nongnu.org.
