I delayed posting a reply because I am surprised that no subscriber of
the list has
kept a copy of that code. For example, on the lua-users wiki on LuaSource we
can find the following:
The [Yueliang] project (a port of the Lua VM C code to Lua) has fairly
heavily documented source code and can be used to help understand the
corresponding C source code.
Which is what I was trying to do. Other people have also shown an interest but
the original code seems to be nowhere on the web.
