Next release of Lua 5.3

Hi,

I was wondering when the next update to Lua 5.3 is planned, and
whether this update will improve the performance of type checks for
userdata (at the workshop Roberto mentioned that some improvement was
planned in this area).

I am working on creating some Lua bindings and wanted to check what
the impact (if any) of the changes might be.
