I recently opened an account with polarhome.com, a free service which
provides shell access to several platforms*, including AIX and Solaris.
Normally to acquire shell access you need to first send a form by postal
mail with $10 in local currency enclosed. It's a way to deter abuse. I spoke
with the owner and he'd be happy to enable shell access for the Lua
maintainers without the pro forma mailing.
Create template accounts for the relevant systems, fill out the shell access
form, and send it to him directly via e-mail.
Unfortunately, the AIX system only has GCC and not IBM's XLC, as I found out
when compiling Lua. Still, it seems quite useful.
