The executable itself is in my case a unit test that links against the 
dll that exposes the functions. The executable itself does not expose 
anything.
Microsofts dependency walker shows that the DLL exposes the C functions 
all right. After all, it works when I explicitly load() the DLL.

I am. I have built it using the provided build script and integrated 
along the lines specified in the docs.

I wasn't sure if this is a luajit specific question as I suppose this 
is a very common Lua use case. So I went for this list.
