Observe the poster's name. ;) I think it's a new coinage -- although
one that's clearly true, as the cause-and-effect relationship is
obvious.

A way to draw a lesson from Laurie's law would be to twist it a bit:

"Debate an issue hotly and you will be assured that the developers will never implement it."
