It looks like it adds the `/usr/*` paths to `package.path` (default Lua 
only uses `/usr/local/*`), and the multiarch library directories to 
`package.cpath`.

But you can always do `apt-get source lua5.2` and look at 
`lua5.2-5.2.2/debian/patches/*` yourself.

... or wait for Enrico Tassi.
