Thanks @Paul and @Steve. LuaDist batteries seem to lack at one library I needed -- "luars232" (that LfW does have - but not the latest).
Have opened a new issue. Hopefully the maintainers (Peter?) would include it in the next release. Now only if the LuaIDE based on SciTE from LfW could be salvaged !

'batteries' zip is actually the new LfW. The big advantage is that
Peter Drahos (from LuaDist) can rebuild all the packages, whereas with
the old LfW there was no common collected source base. Much easier to
keep up to date!
