Yes, it very popular problem and haven't fixed yet. Without Cosmo you can't use Sputnik, without Sputnik you don't have CMF/CMS for Lua. And people ask why Lua not so popular.
The only fix I know is to use LPeg 0.10 which is compatible with everything.
