Yep, Lua is increasingly important for the devices that people like to
interact with.  There has been a 'hollowing out' of the traditional
desktop, with portable clients and big servers becoming more
important.  I'm not saying anything overdramatic like the 'death of
the desktop' but there has been this trend.

And on the client side, the big scripting languages are a liability;
on the server side (as Paul Graham famously noted) you can use
anything you like as your not-so-secret weapon  ;)
