Neither of these is a problem on Mac OS X or FreeBSD :-)
But Windows and some commercial unices need something else.
Places to look for inspiration: Python's os.urandom(); Perl_seed() in
perl's util.c; OpenSSL crypto/rand/rand_*.c; Apache APR misc/*/rand.c.
