This is true, but I was going a little mad, pretending that I was
writing Python and essentially pulling in thousands of lines of code
to do relatively simple things. The choice to use Lua like Python may
well be a sensible application choice, but I'd like to make it
optional.

The idea is tempting, I grant you - especially since we have all the
pretty printing available.
