Seconded.

May I suggest naming them http://www.lua.org/ftp/patch-lua-5.1.3-1, -2, and so on.

Maybe the numbering should mirror that of the bugs, so the current patch would be patch-lua-5.1.3-10.

I would rather have the patches accumulating (-4 contains fixes 1,2,3,4) but taste may vary here?

A new patch file fixing all known bugs in Lua 5.1.3 is now available at

This patch includes fixes for two bugs that were reported recently:
	http://www.lua.org/bugs.html#5.1.3-9
	http://www.lua.org/bugs.html#5.1.3-10

All feedback welcome.

Unfortunately this is rather sub-optimation for distribution packaging / packagers,
especially due to the ever changing file.

If you do not want to spin new full tarballs (which I would vote for), please at least avoid the ever changing file (time consuming to track, review and not nice to checksum), and put single patches with numerical ordering into some directory, like e.g GNU bash (and others) is doing it. This way it's way more easy to follow, track, review and friendly to common packaging system which checksum the upstream source files,
especially for security.

Yours,
