SOC: Lulu, a Lua implementation of Lucene

Hello,

Here is a proposal for a Lua entry for the "Google Summer of Code" '08:

lu·lu (lū'lū) n. Slang.

A remarkable person, object, or idea.

A very attractive or seductive looking woman.

A Lua implementation of Lucene.


Functional requirement

• Read and write Lucene's index file format
• Support Lucene's query syntax functionalities

Implementation requirement

• No external dependencies aside from Lua itself
• Simple API
• Idiomatic
