MS isn't going away any time soon.
But its products certainly are, and sometimes they disappear from one
day to the next. Just to refer to different time periods, think of MS
BASIC for Macintosh, OS/2, recently even Visual Basic as programmers
used to know it.
MS is probably one of the worst examples to quote when speaking of
assurance of continued availability and support.

Just a pun on "Lua"... sorry, I couldn't resist :-) But if you (or your
boss) really believe "the larger the company, the better the support" or
that something is more reliable because there's a corporation behind it,
you're in for big disillusionments indeed.
