Mark,
http://www.playercore.com/pub/Tamarin/Avmplus_vs._javascript.htm
Be
aware that Spidermonkey is slower than just about everything else out
there. The fact that Tamarin is faster than Spidermonkey is something
that PHP, Ruby and Perl can claim too. The fact that Tamarin has to
use static typing to actually be faster is even worse. See http://shootout.alioth.debian.org/ for all popular languages.
Now,
it is possible that Tamarin could become as fast as Lua. What is
probably not going to happen, however, is some interpreted or byte code
language with dynamic typing surpassing Lua. Lua is the leader and it
is up to everyone else to knock it off its perch.
Thanks,
McKinley

Do you have a pointer to these benchmarks?
Mark
