Are there any other builds of Lua that have this functionality built
in. Like LuaX, ect...
among a few other extensions, the lua interpreter built into luatex (experimantal extension of tex) has a setenv ; the code is by implemented by Taco Hoekwater <taco@elvenkind.com>) so he knows the details (i tested it on windows and it works ok). Hans
