This is a weird discussion, honestly. All it does is to decrease the
signal/noise ratio, IMO. If you want a forum, go ahead and create one.
There, a lua forum. If you want to advertise it, write about it here,
and make a page on the wiki that points to it. If there's demand,
people will come. 

You should not expect everybody to follow you. There are people who
prefer mailing lists, and they will continue to prefer mailing lists
even if your forum is in place.

If you don't want to miss the list traffic, as some people have
pointed out, there are solutions for forum advocates to use the list
as if it were a forum. Well, at least almost.

Why bend everybody into the one shape?
