Hmm....  I'm not sure I'm following what you're saying.  Are you using
TextEdit to edit a script, then get the TEHandle and pass that to
lua_load/lua_call?

That's essentially what I'm doing but I definitely have to replace my "\r"
with "\n" to get short comments to work (everything else works fine even if
I do not to the replacing)...
