We thought about that. Technically it is easy; actually it is already done: you can use "lua-l@lua.org" if you prefer. But there are too many places that shows the raw address of the list (headers, welcome message, etc.). It would be quite confusing if we talk about an address while the list itself talks about another.
If the e-mail DNS entries of lua.org are poiting to bazar2.conectiva.com.br it's possible for the conectiva server admins to configure the mailing list to use the lua.org domain instead of bazar2.conectiva.com.br, replacing completely all addresses at bazar2.conectiva.com.br.
Now I don't know how painful it would be for them to change it, I just know it would be really nice :)
