lua 5.0 lua_getn

Hi all,
	I'm porting my app from lua 4.1a to 5.0a. 
I noticed that lua_getn() is not public anymore, I suppose there is a good reason but I'm wandering 
what's the correct way to retrieve the same result in lua 5.0.
How?
