btw quite many text editors (e. g. notepad++ or MS Visual Code) would
check the used line end char, and keep it then, if you add any further
lines.
(I think "by standard" they use \r\n, but if you strip the \r away in
the complete file, and so some further editing, it will NOT use \r
then any more...).
