The following gives a nice result too, provided a TeX Live distribution is installed:

pandoc --pdf-engine=context -o lua5.4.pdf https://lua.org/manual/5.4/manual.html

Incidentally, ConTeXt, based on TeX, uses Lua as an scripting language.
