I am having a cursory look at the 'work' manual at and I noticed that 
some topics (e.g. 3.4 - Expressions) include usage examples, while 
others do not.

I think that examples, though not strictly necessary, could be very 
valuable to both newcomers and, for new or changed topics, also to 
current Lua users (e.g in 3.3.7 - Local declarations).

(I apologize if this has already been noted; I did not follow all list 
discussions)
