~ - ties [1] together two notes.

Which, considering it's a music markup language [2], is expected.
However, there is some craziness.

[]  - Beams [3] a sequence of notes. The crazy part is that the first
note *must* be outside: c8[ d e f e d]
The same with other balanced notation, like ().
