The poll was what we use not what we would like to use. I would like to use LR but it used to not work in my setup and now it does there is the LuaJIT issue with it.

Not to say that there should not always be an easy manual route.

This is correct and people have pointed out many problems with the poll, for example there should also have been a filter to ask what is the main Operating System you use.

There are two days remaining until the poll closes, currently there are 68 votes for using a package manager of sorts and 96 without.

As has been said take the results with a pinch of salt, although I hope they are of some use for the decision at the Lua Workshop.
