Hi.

You will find, not jusâ??t for Lua but for other languages as well, that graphics and animation simply are not available in the language.

Graphics and animation are something you would find in an environment. Language is just one part of that environment. Other parts would be image loading libraries, drawing routines, etc. Those functionalities would be made available in the language. The same functionalities could be different from language to language, environment to environment.

Two examples to try:

www.love2d.org
www.polycode.org

Good luck.

Subject: Basic Question on LUA - Game Design

Good morning to all

Can anyone give me a hand? I am very new to programming and basically all kinds of languages.

I have a question about animation and inserting the art you design into the game.

How does it work? What do I use to insert, create and view the sprites/characters/maps I design into a game that is being developed in LUA?

Basically, what is used in LUA to link the code lines and the animated elements that are inserted in the game?

I see it is a beginners question but it would give me a north!

Thanks for the attention guys

Danilo
