Do you know the ID3v2 specs?

You could check where the metadata is located, seek up to the position in bytes and write the tag.

Hello listers,
Does someone know a Lua module to write ID3v2 MP3 metadata?
I want to use the tag "composer", so it's not enough the ID3v1 pattern.
I found a very good module to read MP3 metadata, but no for writing.
