I wonder if LuaKit [1] allows DOM manipulation through embedded Lua scripts...

Could someone please compare briefly the functionality of CGILua to that of _javascript_? Or, is CGILua an alternative to _javascript_?
Also, is there a web browser that supports, either by default or through an add-on, Lua code embedded within a webpage, the same way _javascript_ code is supported and run in webpages?
Thanks
