I goofed the first sentence.  It should have said:

Lineqpp does NOT know anything about XML syntax.  It's just a general
preprocessor that is shown working with SVG in the documentation because
that is the application that motivated me to write the program.  You can
use it on a C source file if you like or even on a Lua source file.
