DO-178 (http://www.do178site.com/) is a software safety standard required by major avionics certification authorities such as the FAA or EASA (http://www.easa.eu.int/).

Has anyone brought up or is thinking about certifying the Lua interpreter / compiler and/or eLua under DO 178 (at any level) ?

They require use of MISRA C (http://www.misra.org.uk/)
