When I write LPEG code, I think of it like I'm doing a recursive-
descent parser, something to which LPEG maps pretty well.

RD parsers are generally pretty easy to write and familiar to many
programmers; LPEG just sort of adds a bunch of specialized tools that
make using it much more convenient than doing the same thing by hand.

The automobile has not merely taken over the street, it has dissolved the
living tissue of the city.  Its appetite for space is absolutely insatiable;
moving and parked, it devours urban land, leaving the buildings as mere
islands of habitable space in a sea of dangerous and ugly traffic.
[James Marston Fitch, New York Times, 1 May 1960]
