Sure; for anybody who wants to see their code in the most widespread
use -- especially for this sort of small utility library (which can be
replicated easily enough) -- it's a good idea to follow the usual Lua
practice and use a BSD license.

Still, there are people using the GPL, so there is an audience for a
GPL'd library, although smaller.
